To fully implement the general requirements for Party building in the new era, promote the deep integration of Party building work with talent cultivation, discipline construction and social services, and further expand the university-local and university-enterprise collaborative education platform, on the afternoon of May 20, Lu Zhuobin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Engineering, led a delegation to Shantou Survey, Design and Consulting Association for the Signing Ceremony for Party Building Co-construction and Inauguration of Industry-Education Integration Practical Teaching Base. Representatives from the association, the College of Engineering of Shantou University and relevant enterprises attended the event, which was presided over by Jin Ling, Secretary-General of Shantou Survey, Design and Consulting Association.

Chen Haoran, Secretary of the Party Branch of Shantou Survey, Design and Consulting Association, introduced the work of the Party branch since its establishment in theoretical learning, red education, joint learning and co-construction, and industry exchanges, demonstrating the positive effects of Party building in leading industrial development.

Lu Zhuobin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Engineering, Shantou University, briefed the participants on the college’s Party building work. He stated that the college has always adhered to high-quality Party building to lead high-quality development and actively promoted the deep integration of Party building with talent cultivation, discipline construction and social services. This Party building co-construction has built an important platform for deepening cooperation between the college, the industry association and enterprises. It is hoped that the two sides will take the co-construction as a link to promote resource sharing, complementary advantages and collaborative education, and turn Party building strengths into practical results for serving local industrial development and cultivating high-quality engineering talents.

Witnessed by all attendees, the Party Committee of the College of Engineering and the Party Branch of Shantou Survey, Design and Consulting Association officially signed the Agreement on Party Building Co-construction and held the inauguration ceremony. This co-construction will further promote regular cooperation between the two sides in organizational co-construction, joint theoretical learning, resource sharing, talent co-cultivation and coordinated development.

Representatives of both sides then signed the agreement for the industry-education integration practical teaching base and held the inauguration ceremony.

Zheng Weixiong, General Manager of Shantou Tianyou Architectural Design Consulting Co., Ltd., introduced the company’s development. He noted that the enterprise has long been rooted in Shantou and served eastern Guangdong, accumulating rich experience in architectural design consulting, industrial park construction and engineering project practice. He hoped to take the base construction as an opportunity to jointly build a university-enterprise collaborative education platform with the college to support student growth.

Professor Jiang Guoyi from the College of Engineering introduced the basic situation of the internship base construction of the Department of Civil Engineering. He said that the department has developed rapidly in recent years and has formed a complete talent training system covering bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral programs. Professional practice is a key part of civil engineering talent training. With the expansion of student enrollment, the college hopes to further strengthen cooperation with local high-quality enterprises to provide students with more practical positions close to engineering frontlines and improve their ability to solve real engineering problems.

During the discussion, the two sides exchanged views on student internships, talent cultivation, urban renewal, protection and utilization of Chaoshan traditional architecture and other topics. Enterprise representatives pointed out that related industries have higher requirements for interdisciplinary and practical talents, suggesting broad prospects for university-enterprise cooperation.

Associate Professor Zhang Cuina from the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, introduced the development of the architecture program and shared the team’s teaching and research explorations in the research of the Old Park area, Chaoshan traditional architecture, rural planning and digital technology application. She expressed the hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with industry enterprises to enable students to broaden their horizons and enhance capabilities through real projects.

In his concluding speech, Xu Lu, President of Shantou Survey, Design and Consulting Association, stated that the signing of the Party building co-construction agreement and the inauguration of the practical teaching base mark an important milestone and a new starting point for bilateral cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides will gather development momentum through Party building co-construction, solve practical problems in talent training and industrial development via industry-education integration, and jointly serve Shantou’s urban construction and high-quality industrial development.

This event is a concrete practice for the Party Committee of the College of Engineering to deepen industry-education integration and strengthen collaborative education. Going forward, the college Party Committee will continue to focus on central work while strengthening Party building, and use high-quality Party building to boost development. It will further enhance cooperation with local industry associations and high-quality enterprises, channel more industrial, corporate and practical resources to the frontline of talent cultivation, and make new contributions to training high-quality talents meeting the needs of engineering construction in the new era and serving the high-quality economic and social development of the local region.
