College of Engineering Visits Alumni Association in Huizhou and Launches Special Enterprise Outreach for Job Expansion


To further deepen university‑enterprise collaboration, expand employment channels for graduates, and achieve precise alignment between talent cultivation and industrial development needs, from April 22 to 23, a delegation from the College of Engineering, Shantou University led by Zhang Guihua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, visited Huizhou to meet with the local alumni association and carry out a special enterprise outreach campaign.
The delegation also included Lin Zhanqiao, Deputy Secretary of the College Youth League Committee, Wang Wan, full‑time counselor, and Xu Chunlian, Alumni Affairs Assistant from the University External Relations Office.
On the morning of April 22, the delegation visited the Huizhou Alumni Association, where they were warmly received by representatives including Huang Guangwei, President of the Alumni Association, Wu Bin and Du Xiaotong, Executive Vice Presidents, and Li Huicheng and Deng Wenxin, Vice Presidents.
During the discussion, Zhang Guihua introduced the recent development of the College of Engineering and expressed hope for strengthened exchanges and the establishment of a university‑enterprise cooperation platform. Xu Chunlian updated the attendees on the progress of alumni affairs and liaison work. Huang Guangwei reported on the recent work and future plans of the alumni association. The two sides also exchanged views on alumni cooperation, university‑enterprise linkage, student internship and employment, and other topics.
In the afternoon, accompanied by alumni association representatives, Zhang Guihua and the delegation visited Araland Group and held a discussion with Liu Xu, General Manager of the Group’s Human Resources and Administration Center, Liu Jianfeng, Director of the Chairman’s Office and STU alumnus, Luo Jie, Brand and Corporate Culture Manager, and Li Xiaoyu, Supervisor of the Group’s Business Office.
Zhang Guihua briefed the enterprise on the basic information of Shantou University and the College of Engineering, and Wang Wan focused on introducing the profile of graduating students. Liu Xu presented the group’s talent development system and expressed expectations for jointly building a new talent development ecosystem. The two sides held in‑depth discussions on organizing student study tours, supporting career planning, and promoting scientific research exchanges and cooperation.
On the morning of April 23, the delegation visited Desai Battery Co., Ltd., accompanied by Mo Qizhen, Secretary‑General of the Huizhou Alumni Association.
They were received and engaged in discussions with Li Yuexing, Vice President of Desai Battery and STU alumnus, and Shen Yufeng, Director of the Ecological Development Department of Data Core Redchip (Guangdong) Technology Co., Ltd. and STU alumnus.
Li Yuexing offered valuable suggestions on helping students with career planning and enhancing employability. Drawing on his own experience, Shen Yufeng encouraged current students to identify industry trends and embrace the era.
This visit to the alumni association and the special enterprise outreach campaign effectively built a high‑quality platform for communication and connectivity among the college, alumni, and enterprises.
Through in‑depth engagement with high‑quality local enterprises and collaboration with local alumni, the college accurately grasped industrial talent demands, broadened internship and employment channels for graduates, and strengthened the foundation of university‑enterprise collaborative education.
Going forward, the College of Engineering, Shantou University will continue to advance the enterprise outreach initiative, fully leverage the resource advantages of alumni associations, deepen two‑way exchanges and resource sharing between universities and enterprises, and ensure close alignment between talent cultivation and industrial needs.
The college will further improve its collaborative education system to support student growth and high‑quality employment, while deepening university‑enterprise and university‑local cooperation to achieve mutually beneficial and coordinated development among the college, enterprises, and alumni.
