"Pipe Care for Growth · Kids Deserve Safety" Promotion Group stood out from 1,000 teams nationwide and was selected as one of the 100 outstanding teams, winning the
national-level commendation for the 2025 Pipeline Protection Promotion Volunteer Service by the Communist Youth League Central Committee.
Selected Through Rigorous Evaluation, True to Original Aspiration
In November 2025, relying on its sincere public welfare commitment and professional preparation plan, the "Pipe Care for Growth · Kids Deserve Safety" Promotion Group was selected for the 2025 Pipeline Protection Promotion Volunteer Service project organized by the CYLC Central Committee, becoming one of the 1,000 shortlisted teams nationwide. This recognition affirms the team’s volunteer service philosophy and embodies high expectations for young people from the College of Engineering to engage in social services and fulfill their responsibilities.
Acting with Knowledge and Conviction, Youth in Practice
Since its selection, the promotion group has upheld the mission of “safeguarding energy security and supporting the healthy growth of young people” and focused on on-campus science popularization. It has joined forces with the "Xinghua" University Student Practice Group of Shantou University and the Youth Service Team of the Shantou Operation Area of PipeChina South China Company to spread the concept of safety through concrete actions.
The team visited the 4th Primary School of Waima Road and Aihua Middle School, setting up promotion booths and delivering four themed lectures, reaching more than 500 teachers and students with vivid education on pipeline protection and emergency risk avoidance. It also screened the public welfare film The Bravest, strengthening young people’s safety awareness through immersive experience. In addition, the team produced one high-quality official article and one summary video, effectively expanding publicity influence via new media and promoting the widespread dissemination of safety concepts.
From classroom lectures to interactive experiences, from offline services to online communication, the team adopted a service model of “professionalism plus warmth”, bringing pipeline protection knowledge into campuses and planting safety awareness in children’s hearts. It successfully completed all volunteer service tasks, interpreting the volunteer spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress” with youthful efforts.
Honored and Returning, Continuing to Write New Chapters
In April 2026, after joint evaluation by the Youth Volunteer Action Guidance Center of the CYLC Central Committee and other institutions, the "Pipe Care for Growth · Kids Deserve Safety" Promotion Group (now renamed "Kids Deserve Safety" Task Force, Shantou University) stood out from thousands of teams nationwide, was awarded a national excellent team, and officially joined the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project" Task Force.
This honor not only highly recognizes the team’s long-term dedication to pipeline protection science popularization and public welfare services, but also vividly reflects the College of Engineering’s adherence to the philosophy of “education through practice, integrating knowledge and action” and the strong patriotism of its young students.
In the future, the task force will take this achievement as a new starting point, forge ahead bravely on the broad stage of volunteer service and serving the country through scientific research, and contribute mighty youthful strength to national development and national rejuvenation.
