To thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on youth work, earnestly implement the "1310" specific deployment of the Provincial Party Committee, and solidly carry out the "College Student Community Practice Program", the Youth League Committee of Shantou University School of Engineering established the "Colorful Splendor" Task Force, organizing young students to devote themselves to the construction of the "Hundred-Thousand-Thousand Project". The team has successively entered Jicheng Community in Dahua Subdistrict, Shantou City, and Wumei Village, Didu Town, Jieyang City, taking wall painting as a carrier, integrating professional practice into rural revitalization and community quality improvement, and injecting youthful vitality into grassroots development.

With the support of the Youth League Working Committee of Dahua Subdistrict, the "Colorful Splendor" Task Force joined hands with the College Youth Volunteer Association and the "Xinghua" Practice Group to carry out wall painting volunteer services in Jicheng Community. Multiple batches of volunteers worked in relay, transforming eight old walls at the community entrance and beside the fire station into a "three-dimensional civilization corridor". Through in-depth research, the team integrated elements such as neighborhood harmony, fire safety, and Chaoshan culture into the paintings, attracting residents to stop and praise, becoming a vivid carrier connecting the university and the community and spreading civilization.

In Wumei Village, Didu Town, adhering to the concept of "research first, cultural roots", the task force visited the KeDi Memorial Archway, Zheng's Ancestral Hall, and Phalaenopsis Base, listened to villagers' stories, and extracted local elements such as Chaoshan paper-cutting, Yingge dance, and traditional Chaoshan architectural roof ridges. Led by student Party members, volunteers divided work according to their majors. After six phases of hard work, they painted a 73-meter three-dimensional cultural corridor, vividly reproducing folk scenes and new industrial appearances, adding a beautiful landscape to the ancient village.

The months-long practical experience was not only a vivid training for the task force to take root at the grassroots level and transform professional knowledge into service efficiency, but also a beneficial exploration of two-way collaboration between universities and localities to activate cultural vitality. Volunteers improved communication skills through collaboration and strengthened their sense of responsibility through service. Meanwhile, Wumei Village and Jicheng Community have been revitalized by the wall paintings, with significant improvement in living environment and increasingly strong cultural atmosphere.

Up to now, the "Colorful Splendor" Task Force has carried out more than 20 wall painting-themed activities, with over 500 volunteer participations, achieving solid results in promoting local development and youth growth. The activities have received extensive attention, being reported 5 times by media at or above the municipal level and 6 times by university and college-level media, and successively publicized by local mainstream media such as "Jieyang Daily", "Rongcheng Release", "Jinping Publicity", and "Jinping Youth".

In the future, the "Colorful Splendor" Task Force will continue to take root at the grassroots level, using paintbrushes as a medium to contribute more youthful wisdom and strength to the "Hundred-Thousand-Thousand Project"!
