To vigorously promote the Lei Feng Spirit and the volunteer spirit of "Dedication, Friendship, Mutual Assistance, Progress", give full play to the exemplary and leading role of Party and League organizations, and pass on the red gene from generation to generation, on the afternoon of March 20, the Youth League Committee of the School of Engineering, Jingyi College, together with the Youth League Working Committee of Dahua Subdistrict, organized the "Red Star" Pilot Group of the School of Engineering, the Undergraduate Party Branch of Civil Engineering, and the Postgraduate Party Branch of the Department of Civil Engineering to Aihua Middle School in Dahua Subdistrict. They carried out the 1st session of the themed activity "Party & League Hand in Hand to Pass the Torch, Red Spirit Nurtures Young Hearts" under the theme of "Building Foundation on Red Land, Passing the Torch Forward". Through Party-League coordination and university-community cooperation, the activity guided young people to inherit the red spirit and foster patriotism.
Party & League Hand in Hand to Pass the Torch
The activity consisted of two sessions: a red-themed Party lecture and interactive games, bringing an immersive red education experience to students of Aihua Middle School.
In the red-themed Party lecture, speakers focused on "Youth and Faith", vividly interpreting their contemporary connotations through stories of role models such as Lei Feng and Qian Xuesen. Then, Party members affectionately read red family letters written by revolutionary martyrs including Zhao Yiman and Zuo Quan. Every word was filled with the martyrs’ tender longing for their families and sincere loyalty to the country, fully demonstrating their spirit of sacrificing family for the nation, which deeply touched everyone present.
Passing the Torch Toward the Future
In the interactive session, a variety of red-themed experiences were carefully arranged. In the red puzzle activity, students cooperated to complete puzzles of revolutionary sites and narrated the historical events behind them. The red picture-book time machine, supported by AR technology, allowed students to immerse themselves in heroic stories. In the red song lyric relay, students competed to answer song titles and continue lyrics, revisiting classics through music. In the "time postcard" section, students wrote messages to their future selves or to revolutionary martyrs, expressing their youthful aspirations and determination to serve the country. The diverse interactive forms made the red spirit deeply rooted in hearts, creating a lively and warm atmosphere.
Red Relay Nurtures Young Hearts
This campus red spirit preaching activity is an important measure for the School of Engineering and Jingyi College to fulfill their original mission and inherit the red gene. It is also a vivid practice of deepening university-community cooperation with Dahua Subdistrict to cultivate young talents of the new era. By combining lectures, recitations and games, red stories stepped out of textbooks and into classrooms, allowing the revolutionary spirit to nourish young minds. Students from Aihua Middle School expressed that they were deeply moved and inspired. They will take revolutionary martyrs and contemporary role models as examples, set high ideals, master solid skills, integrate personal dreams into the overall national development, and write a youthful answer worthy of the new era with practical actions.
Youth Guidance Accompanies Growth
Going forward, the School of Engineering and Jingyi College will further explore red education resources, enrich the forms of red education, and continue to deepen cooperation with Dahua Subdistrict. They will guide young students to temper their character and enhance their abilities through volunteer services and social practices, so that the revolutionary torch will shine brightly in the new era.
