As Deputy Director of the Department of Electronic Engineering, program coordinator, and leader of teaching and research groups, he coordinates and oversees professional teaching, research management, and student development, contributing to the construction of the national first-class undergraduate program in Electronic Information Engineering and laying a solid foundation for the college's disciplinary advancement and talent cultivation. He consistently keeps in mind the mission of educating students for the Party and the nation, integrating Party spirit cultivation throughout the entire teaching process, and guiding students toward growth and success with firm political conviction. He has twice been honored with the title of "Outstanding Communist Party Member" at Shantou University.

In terms of research funding, he has led two General Projects of the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, two projects of the Anhui Provincial Department of Education University Natural Science Foundation, and three open projects of provincial and ministerial key laboratories. He has also participated in multiple national and provincial-level projects, including major projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation. His research achievements have earned him a Second Prize of the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (Science and Technology) from the Ministry of Education, a First Prize of the Natural Science Award from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Artificial Intelligence and Automation Society, and other significant honors.
In terms of academic output, he has published over 20 SCI/EI-indexed papers, including 5 TOP-tier papers in Chinese Academy of Sciences Category 1 journals and 1 ESI Top 1% highly cited paper. He holds 5 authorized national invention patents, 1 design patent, and 1 registered software copyright. His research outcomes have been applied in various real-world scenarios, including UAV collaborative delivery, unmanned vessel path planning, and new energy power system optimization, facilitating the translation of research into practical applications. His work in dynamic multi-objective optimization, complex constrained optimization, and intelligent delivery systems has provided crucial theoretical support and technical solutions for industrial upgrading in related fields, demonstrating outstanding research competence and innovative capabilities.

Xu Biao has always remained at the forefront of teaching, upholding a "student-centered" educational philosophy. He is deeply engaged in classroom instruction and devoted to nurturing students, teaching undergraduate courses such as Computer Networks, Analog Circuit Design, and Discrete Mathematics, as well as graduate courses including Multi-Objective Intelligent Optimization Algorithms and Their Applications and Statistical Learning Methods. With an annual teaching load exceeding 500 class hours, his serious approach and innovative teaching methods have earned him great appreciation from students and recognition from peers.
He actively promotes teaching reform and innovation, leading university-level educational research projects such as the knowledge graph construction for the Computer Networks course and the integration of large-model AI into the teaching system. He has participated in two provincial-level teaching achievement award projects, receiving one Second Prize of the Guangdong Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement Award and one First Prize of the Shantou University Outstanding Teaching Achievement Award. He has also contributed as a co-author to one textbook, incorporating AI technologies and cutting-edge research into his classes, with a strong focus on cultivating students' innovative thinking and practical skills.
As a gold-medal advisor for discipline competitions, Xu Biao has devoted considerable effort to mentoring young students. He has guided students in prestigious competitions such as the National College Mathematical Contest in Modeling, the Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM/MCM), and the China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition. His students have won over 100 awards, including 2 national first prizes, 6 national second prizes, more than 10 provincial first prizes, and 5 first prizes in the ICM/MCM. He has repeatedly been recognized as an Outstanding Advisor at both the national and Guangdong provincial levels. He has also supervised multiple national and provincial-level College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program projects, helping students develop their talents through research practice and cultivating a new generation of innovative professionals with both theoretical knowledge and practical capabilities.
