In the 2026 "Eaton Cup" Science and Technology Innovation Festival series, two major competitions hosted by the Department of Civil and Smart Construction Engineering have built a practical bridge for students of the College of Engineering to turn blueprint ideas into tangible works.
Strength & Beauty · Vehicle Structure Design Competition
On April 25, the Strength & Beauty · Vehicle Structure Design Competition was held in Lecture Hall 1 of the Sangpu Mountain Campus. Focusing on vehicle body structure design, the competition integrated lightweight design, material selection and safety load-bearing tests, fully examining students’ structural analysis ability and innovative practice skills.
Judge Teacher Wang Chuanlin conducted a comprehensive review from the dimensions of body stiffness, rationality of connection technology and appearance design, and provided detailed guidance on technical difficulties such as frame lightweight optimization and joint fatigue strength control.
