"Integrating Wisdom for Voyage, Childhood Dreams to the Sky" Aerospace Day Themed Popular Science Event

On April 22, the College of Engineering and Jingyi Academy of Shantou University, together with the League Committee of Dahua Subdistrict, held the aerospace-themed popular science activity "Integrating Wisdom for Voyage, Childhood Dreams to the Sky" at Dahua Road No.1 Primary School. The activity translated aerospace knowledge and spirit into seven immersive interactive booths, allowing pupils to experience the power of China’s aerospace industry through hands-on practice.
At the event, students visited the Aerospace Culture Launch Station to collect their exclusive aerospace activity "tickets" and began their wonderful journey of space exploration with curiosity and expectation.
The on-site booths included three types of activities: handcrafting, knowledge quizzes, and team games. In the handcraft area, students used clay to shape imaginary planets, and learned basic principles of aerodynamics by folding and flying paper planes.
The energetic breakout challenge was held nearby, where students lined up to take part in brave challenges. They learned interesting aerospace knowledge in intense and joyful competitions, exercised concentration and responsiveness, and showed full youthful vitality.
In the knowledge quiz area, the "blind box quiz" and "breakout challenge" booths were the most popular. Students won small prizes by rushing to answer aerospace questions and completing designated challenges. In addition, the traditional pitch-pot game was adapted into a "planet pitch-pot", helping students practice focus while playing.
To help students understand teamwork in aerospace work, a special "cooperative responsiveness training" session was arranged. Pupils worked in pairs, completing relay races by running back-to-back with balloons clamped between them.
This aerospace day popular science campus activity allowed children to experience the charm of aerospace up close, learn relevant knowledge, and nurture their belief in exploring the stars and pursuing dreams in the vast sky.
