On the morning of April 28, the general meeting of undergraduate Party members of the College of Engineering & Jingyi Academy was held in Meeting Room 412, West Engineering Building. The meeting was presided over by Comrade Wang Yanni, and all undergraduate Party members of the College of Engineering attended.
The meeting opened solemnly with the playing of the national anthem. The meeting deliberated and adopted the Draft Election Rules for the General Meeting of Undergraduate Party Members of the College of Engineering & Jingyi Academy, the proposed list of candidates for members of the Party Branch Committee, and the proposed list of vote supervisors and vote counters. The first session of members of the Undergraduate Party Branch Committee of the College of Engineering & Jingyi Academy was duly elected.
Subsequently, the first plenary meeting of the Party Branch Committee was held, during which the secretary and deputy secretary of the committee were elected, and the division of responsibilities among other members was determined.
At the meeting, Comrade Zhang Guihua, the newly elected secretary of the Party branch, delivered a speech. Zhang pointed out that the integration of the original three undergraduate Party branches into a new one is an important measure to fully implement the general requirements for Party building in the new era and optimize the setup of primary-level organizations. It is also a vivid practice of fulfilling the university’s comprehensive reform tasks and deepening the collaborative education between the college and the academy.
Zhang stressed that three key tasks will be prioritized in the next stage:
Strengthen political guidance and build the "militant bastion" at the forefront of community governance;
Activate vanguard motivation and highlight the "Party member identity" on the frontline of serving fellow students;
Deepen integration and empowerment and translate the "institutional advantages" into new effectiveness for collaborative education.
The meeting concluded successfully with the singing of The Internationale.
Moving forward, under the firm leadership of higher-level Party organizations, the Undergraduate Party Branch of the College of Engineering & Jingyi Academy will extend its role as a militant bastion to academy communities and innovation and entrepreneurship practices, achieving synchronized enhancement of organizational capacity and combat effectiveness.
