To further advance the study and education on fostering and practicing a correct view on political achievements, and to implement the comprehensive strategic cooperation arrangement between the University and Shantou Investment Holdings Group, on the afternoon of April 20, Lu Zhuobin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Engineering, led teacher Party member representatives to Shantou Water Investment Co., Ltd. for the signing ceremony of Party-building co-construction and a research activity themed "I Do Practical Things for the People".
Signing for Co-Construction to Activate the "Red Engine"
Witnessed by all participants, the Party Committee of the College of Engineering and the Party Branch of Shantou Water Investment Co., Ltd. officially signed the Agreement on Party-Building Co-Construction. According to the agreement, the two sides will break down university-enterprise barriers and build a new pattern of Party-building featuring "joint theoretical learning, shared organizational development, collaborative talent cultivation, collective problem-solving, and mutual achievement sharing".
At the signing ceremony, Lu Zhuobin stated that the whole Party is carrying out in-depth study and education on fostering and practicing a correct view on political achievements. This Party-building co-construction is a concrete action for the College Party Committee to implement the requirement of "governing for the public good and bringing benefits to the people". He emphasized that the political achievements of a university lie not in the number of papers published, but in the number of talents trained who can solve practical problems. It is hoped that the two sides will translate the political advantages of Party-building into practical results serving the development of the university, the local economy and people's livelihood.
The person in charge of Shantou Water Investment Co., Ltd. noted that the enterprise will take this co-construction as an opportunity to rely on the talent and intellectual resources of universities to tackle technical problems, while providing a vivid practice platform for teachers and students to promote collaborative talent cultivation and achievement sharing.
On-Site Visit to Experience "Technology for the People"
After the signing ceremony, the participants visited the science popularization and education exhibition hall of the second phase of Xinxi Wastewater Treatment Plant. Through graphic panels, process models and interactive experiences, the exhibition hall systematically presented the wastewater treatment process, the application of environmental protection technologies and the practical achievements of the Water Investment Company in urban water environment management. Later, the participants entered the central control room to observe the intelligent control system on site. The automated monitoring system covering the whole process from "source to tap" allowed everyone to intuitively feel the transformation and upgrading from traditional water services to "smart water services".
Deepening Cooperation to Promote "Industry-Education Integration"
During the symposium, the two sides held in-depth discussions on specific projects such as "smart monitoring", "intelligent operation and maintenance" and "inspection robots". Both sides agreed that university-enterprise cooperation should not be limited to signing ceremonies and plaque-awarding events, but should be implemented in concrete projects.
At the event, the promotional video of the Investment Holdings Group was also shown, and the plaque of "Practice Base of College of Engineering, Shantou University" was awarded. This activity is not only an innovative exploration of grassroots Party-building work, but also a new starting point for universities and enterprises to strengthen strategic cooperation and jointly serve people's livelihood at the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Guided by Party-building, the two sides will jointly draw a "concentric circle" for high-quality development.
