On April 17, led by Lu Zhuobin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Engineering, a delegation including Ling Siying, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor Wei Huaxian, Associate Professor Wu Jiajun, full-time League cadres Xiao Yingjie and Yu Yijing, carried out a special campaign of visiting enterprises and expanding job positions in Heyuan and Huizhou.
In the Heyuan National High-tech Zone, the delegation held discussions with relevant responsible representatives. Yang Bo, Level IV Researcher of the Heyuan High-tech Zone, Lai Linglin, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, and other officials attended the exchange event.
Accompanied by leaders of the High-tech Zone, the delegation visited enterprises including Nongfu Spring Heyuan Factory and Xiko Communication Technology Equipment (Heyuan) Co., Ltd., conducting on-site inspections of production operations, technological applications and talent demand.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on talent cultivation, employment expansion, innovation and entrepreneurship project incubation, and the transformation of scientific research achievements. They also exchanged views on further deepening university-local coordination, promoting university-enterprise collaborative education, and expanding internship and employment positions for students.
At the Yitu Industry-Education Integration Base in Huizhou, the delegation focused on investigating and exchanging innovative models of industry-education integration, innovation and entrepreneurship project incubation, and the sharing of university-enterprise resources. Teng Chong, Principal of the Base; Li Guanxiong, Managing Director and Secretary-General of the Zhongkai Association for the Promotion of Industry-Education Integration; Yang Mei, Director; Wei Jing, Director of the Academic Affairs Department; Wu Heng, Director of the Training Department; Wu Min, Director of the Enterprise Department, and other representatives of the base attended the symposium.
Both sides agreed that promoting the organic connection between the education chain, talent chain, industrial chain and innovation chain is an important way to improve the quality of talent cultivation and enhance the ability to serve local economic and social development. In the future, relying on the platform advantages of the base, the two sides will further explore multi-level and multi-dimensional cooperation models to build a broader platform for students’ growth and high-quality employment.
This special campaign is an important measure for the College of Engineering to actively respond to the needs of local industrial development and solidly promote employment work. It is also a concrete practice for the college to deepen industry-education integration and enhance its capacity for social services.
