On the afternoon of March 25, the Department of Civil and Smart Construction Engineering, School of Engineering, held a spring-semester academic advisor meeting and a themed sharing session on postgraduate recommendation for 2025-grade students. Class supervisors, academic advisors of the department, and all 2025-grade students attended the meeting, which was hosted by Teacher Liu Yuzhong from the Department of Civil and Smart Construction Engineering.

Civil Engineering Session

The event established a cross-grade and cross-major exchange platform, providing targeted guidance for 2025-grade students to clarify academic planning, postgraduate recommendation pathways and career orientations.

Zheng Qingting (2022-grade Intelligent Construction, admitted for postgraduate recommendation by Southeast University) and Huang Shuxuan (2023-grade Civil Engineering) systematically introduced the full process of postgraduate recommendation planning and approaches to disciplinary competitions. They shared methods for major courses, final exam review strategies, covering key academic topics including GPA improvement, utilization of university resources, and preparation for college innovation and entrepreneurship projects.

Architecture Session

Huo Ruiyao (2022-grade Architecture) outlined key timelines and policy requirements for early postgraduate recommendation planning, application materials and internship arrangements. Wang Shuning, a first-year postgraduate student, shared her perseverance in overcoming academic challenges based on her own study experience.

2025-grade students had face-to-face discussions with academic advisors on professional courses, competition participation and academic planning. Advisors answered questions one by one and clarified learning requirements and development goals.

Conclusion

This event not only built a cross-grade and cross-major growth exchange platform, but also helped lower-grade students clarify their professional learning directions and development paths. It strengthened students’ ideological and emotional identification with their majors, effectively promoting growth through communication and development through sharing, and injecting strong impetus into students’ professional development.
