On the evening of March 28, to enrich campus cultural life and build a stage for campus music lovers, the final of the 2026 "A New Chapter of Melody, Harmonious Engineering Rhythm" Top Ten Singers Competition jointly hosted by the School of Engineering and Jingyi College was held in the atrium of Block D, Jingyi College.

The competition invited Zhang Lin, director of MIC Window Concert in Shantou City, Ye Huoshu, Director of the Labor Union Office of Shantou University, and Zhong Ziyan, teacher from the Art Education Center of Shantou University as judges.

Before the competition, a bazaar fair was held at the same time, where students won gifts through interesting interactive games. Teacher Yang Nan from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering kicked off the pre-competition performance with warm-up music, followed by a dynamic dance presented by the College Dance Team. After the host introduced the competition rules, the contest officially began.

The competition consisted of two rounds: duet in the first round and solo in the second round. In the first round, 16 finalists were paired up to perform on stage in harmony and duet, showing diverse musical styles. In the second round, 10 semi-finalists took the stage to perform solo one after another, winning applause from the audience with their singing skills and stage performance. The intermission magic show and the singing performance by guest Gu Guanghao further heated up the atmosphere.

After two rounds of fierce competition, the award-winning contestants of this Top Ten Singers Competition were announced one by one. The judges presented awards to the champion, the first runner-up, the second runner-up, seven award-winning contestants, as well as the Most Popular Singer and the Best Stage Style Singer, and group photos were taken to record the glorious moments.

Taking music as a bridge, this Top Ten Singers Competition built a showcase stage for campus music lovers, enriched campus cultural life and demonstrated the artistic demeanor of young students. The School of Engineering and Jingyi College will continue to deepen the connotation of aesthetic education practice, promote the normalization and diversification of campus cultural activities, and guide engineering students to improve their quality and achieve all-round development through artistic edification.
