Highlights of the 8th Student Backbone Training Camp of the Young Marxists Training Project

Youth meets a prosperous era, and striving is the right moment. On March 18 and 22, 2026, the School of Engineering and Jingyi College held the 8th Student Backbone Training Camp of the Young Marxists Training Project. Adopting a combination of theoretical empowerment and practical development, the training camp focused on improving the League work capacity and building team cohesion.

On March 18, the training session was held at the School of Engineering, hosted by Zhou Junjie, League Affairs Assistant. He delivered lectures on League affairs practice and the norms for League member development, helping participants strengthen their sense of responsibility and professional competence.

Zhang Kailiang, person in charge of the Youth League Committee of the School of Engineering and Director of the General Office of Jingyi College, delivered a special report entitled Seeking Practical Results Instead of False Reputations. He analyzed the "six manifestations" of false achievements, encouraging participants to turn "hidden achievements" into "visible results", "empty work" into "practical effects", and "temporary efforts" into "consistent actions". He urged them to conduct student work with the historical responsibility of "success does not have to be attributed to me, but success must have my contribution".

Huang Jingjie, League Affairs Assistant of the School of Engineering and Secretary of the 10th General League Branch of the Department of Civil and Smart Construction Engineering, comprehensively explained daily League affairs based on practical work experience, covering the role positioning, core responsibilities, essential skills, efficient working methods and responses to common problems of League cadres. He clarified that the core identity of League cadres is that of service providers and coordinators, and shared practical methods such as checklist management, template reuse and closed-loop thinking.

Zhang Zejian, Secretary of the 10th General League Branch of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the School of Engineering, focused on three core tasks of League affairs: League dues collection, innovative League courses and organizational life meetings. He shared efficient working methods and immersive activity design ideas with practical experience, making League work more warm, in-depth and effective.

"I volunteer to join the Communist Youth League of China, firmly uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, abide by the League Constitution, implement the League's resolutions, fulfill my obligations as a League member, strictly observe the League's discipline, study diligently, work actively, put hardship before comfort, and strive for the cause of communism."

Led by Liu Simiao, League Affairs Assistant, all participants raised their right fists and solemnly renewed the League admission oath. The sonorous oath echoed at the venue, further strengthening the ideals and beliefs of the young League members.

On March 22, the outdoor development activity of the training camp kicked off joyfully. All League cadres gathered in groups and cooperated with tacit understanding. Through interesting interactions, they enhanced communication, built synergy, tempered team spirit, and demonstrated the youthful demeanor of striving and unity among young backbones.

The activity included games such as Hand-in-Hand Hula Hoop Relay, Blindfolded Photography, and League Affairs Knowledge Quiz. In the Hand-in-Hand Hula Hoop Relay, team members passed the hula hoop without letting go, testing coordination and speed to build team cohesion; in Blindfolded Photography, one participant was blindfolded and positioned by teammates' ringtones to take photos, full of fun; in the League Affairs Knowledge Quiz, teams competed in limited time to test their knowledge reserve. After accumulating points from three rounds, the second group won first place with tacit cooperation, and all groups received exquisite gifts according to their rankings.

Participants also made DIY kites together, painting dreams with brushes and flying them in the spring breeze. Colorful kites carried youthful ideals and team friendship, soaring into the vast blue sky.

This student backbone training camp consolidated the foundation through theory and promoted growth through practice. It not only improved the professional competence and sense of responsibility of League cadres, but also enhanced team cohesion. The School of Engineering and Jingyi College will continue to take the Young Marxists Training Project as a carrier to guide student backbones to base themselves on their posts, serve fellow students, temper their abilities and take on responsibilities in practice.
