Wonderful Review of the "Mechanical Exploration, Intellectual and Fun Growth" Course

In response to the call to strengthen science popularization education for teenagers and arouse children's interest in science, the teaching team of the "Mechanical Exploration, Intellectual and Fun Growth" course went to Tuodong School and held a unique "Intelligent Manufacturing Enters Campus" activity. Through a combination of interesting explanations and hands-on practice, the activity transformed mechanical principles into interactive and operable learning experiences, allowing primary school students to feel the charm of mechanical science through hands-on and brainstorming activities.

Theoretical Session

The first stage of the course was theoretical enlightenment. University student lecturers translated knowledge such as mechanical transmission, hydraulic principles and sensor applications into vivid and easy-to-understand language with the help of pictures, animations and simple models. Focusing on five themes including "color recognition robot", "south-pointing chariot", "robotic arm", "intelligent robot dog" and "hydraulic principles", the class built a basic framework of mechanical science in primary school students' minds through question-and-answer interactions and principle demonstrations, effectively stimulating their curiosity and desire to explore.

Practical Session

Abandoning the traditional indoctrination of theories, the course focused on experience and exploration. On the basis of theoretical groundwork, the course moved on to the core practical session. Divided into groups, primary school students, under the guidance of volunteers, assembled intelligent car and robotic arm models with their own hands, and debugged sensors and simple programs. From assembling parts to realizing functions, students "learned by doing and comprehended by playing", which not only exercised their hands-on ability and teamwork spirit, but also gave them an intuitive and profound understanding of the principles learned in the theoretical session. The classroom was filled with a sense of accomplishment and joyful laughter the moment their works were successfully operated.

Completion Exhibition

The course concluded with a small completion exhibition. Transforming into little commentators, the primary school students confidently displayed and explained the works they had made and the underlying principles to their classmates, teachers and some parents. This session not only verified the learning outcomes, but also exercised the students' ability to summarize and express themselves. Warm applause broke out among the teachers and students present as they watched the children explain mechanical knowledge clearly and show a strong interest in science.

Conclusion

Through the interlocking three-stage design, this course realized a complete learning cycle from knowledge input to ability internalization and then to achievement output. The university student team also significantly improved their ability to apply professional knowledge and engage in social practice in the process of course planning, teaching and organization. The activity built a win-win platform for university students to serve the society and primary school students to receive cutting-edge science popularization education, and provided a beneficial model for continuously promoting inter-school cooperation in science popularization.

In the future, the course team will take this precious experience and heartfelt touches to continuously optimize subsequent course content and expand relevant services. We will go to more places in need, and use professional knowledge and youthful enthusiasm to light up more children's dreams of science and technology!
