I. Meticulous Organization and Remarkable Achievements
In 2024, students from the College of Engineering performed excellently in the Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitions (Category Ⅱ) and achieved remarkable results. Among the 84 national undergraduate discipline competitions recognized by the Ministry of Education, 3 teams won national championships. Specifically, the team led by Song Yatao won the national championship of the RAICOM Robot Developer Competition, the team led by Zeng Wenhua won the national championship of the Robot Competition (Simuro Football) Track in the China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, and the team led by Peng Yinjie won the national championship of the Smart Retail Competition Track in the China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition. In addition, the College of Engineering organized teachers and students to win 9 national first prizes in the China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition in 2023 and 2024, making important contributions to the school being rated as the "Outstanding Organization Unit" of the China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition for two consecutive years.
II. Building Dreams with Technology, Putting Practice First
In recent years, the College of Engineering has adhered to promoting learning through competitions, teaching through competitions, and innovation through competitions. Members of the college leadership team have gone deep into teaching departments to carry out special research on innovation and entrepreneurship, sorting out key and difficult work points. Adhering to the combination of introducing external resources and going out for learning, the college has invited experts from inside and outside the school in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship to serve as mentors, who have given thematic lectures, project polishing and one-on-one guidance to teachers and students of the college. It has also led league cadres in charge of innovation and entrepreneurship to visit Zhejiang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, Southwest Jiaotong University and Zhejiang University of Technology to learn from the typical practices of innovation and entrepreneurship in well-known universities. The college has actively mobilized alumni to raise development funds to support innovation and entrepreneurship-related work, with a total of more than 1.2 million yuan raised. Through solid work, the college has made multiple breakthroughs in innovation and entrepreneurship achievements. "Multi-agent Control Model for Target Information Collection in Complex Underwater Unknown Environments" won the Special Prize and the Champion of the "Problem-Solving" Special Competition in the 18th "Challenge Cup" National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition. "Smart Building - Leader in Intelligent Construction" won the national bronze award in the 8th China International Internet + University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The achievements in discipline competitions are gratifying. In 2024, students of the college won a total of 273 provincial and above awards in the discipline competition list recognized by the Ministry of Education, including 8 national first prizes, 14 national second prizes and 26 national third prizes.

I am deeply honored and encouraged to have won the national first prize in the 2024 RAICOM Robot Developer Competition (RAICOM) Football Competition and the 26th China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition. The road to preparation was full of challenges and hardships, but it was these trials that forged today's achievements. In the RAICOM Robot Developer Competition, Smart Retail Competition and iLoboke Football Competition, I deeply realized the importance of innovation and practice. Every attempt and failure is a reshaping and improvement of myself. The power of teamwork is even more indispensable; we faced difficulties together and moved forward hand in hand. This honor belongs not only to me personally, but also to the entire team. I am extremely excited and full of pride to have won the national first prize in the Robot Competition (Simuro Football) this time. The preparation process was full of challenges. At first, facing complex robot systems and programming problems, I was at a loss and didn't know where to start. With the patient guidance of teachers and senior brothers, I sorted out my ideas and gradually found the direction. In teamwork, everyone performed their own duties and cooperated tacitly. When encountering technical problems, we worked together, thought collectively and tried various solutions. This process made me deeply realize the power of the team—with joint efforts, there are no insurmountable difficulties. The tense atmosphere during the competition also tempered my adaptability, allowing me to stay calm under pressure and adjust strategies quickly. This honor is not only an affirmation of my personal efforts, but also the best interpretation of our team spirit, making me understand that unity can create infinite possibilities.
This is the first time I have participated in the 26th China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition as the person in charge, and I am very grateful to the instructors for their hard guidance and the team members for their efforts. Juniors and sisters, there are many opportunities to improve yourself in discipline competitions. You must have the courage to take the first step, hold your dreams, be firm in yourself, fear no difficulties, and practice in constant challenges.
I am very honored to have won the national first prize in this National Undergraduate Mathematical Modeling Competition. Looking back on this competition experience, from the initial topic selection discussion to the model construction and optimization, every member of our team has invested a lot of time and energy. Facing one challenge after another, we supported each other, explored together, and finally combined theory with practice to achieve this result. Mathematical modeling not only exercised our analytical ability, programming ability and innovative thinking, but also made us deeply realize the importance of teamwork. Finally, I hope that through this competition, more students can be inspired to engage in the study and practice of mathematical modeling, constantly challenge themselves, surpass themselves, and achieve their own splendor.
I am very honored to have won the national first prize in the AI Visual Inspection Design Challenge of the 2024 iCAN University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and I would like to thank the college for providing such a platform to show myself. This achievement is the result of my teammates and I working day and night under the guidance of teachers. During the preparation, we encountered many difficulties and the time was very tight, but in the end we found ways to overcome these difficulties and showed our best performance in the competition. What I want to say to my juniors and sisters is: participating in competitions will be tiring, and success does not come overnight—it is a long and arduous journey.
