Communication Engineering (Ministry of Education Excellent Engineer Class)

Program Objectives:

The program aims to cultivate outstanding engineers with the capability to design and develop various types of communication systems, particularly excelling in the design and manufacturing of intelligent communication terminals. Graduates will possess solid theoretical knowledge and hands-on industry experience, as well as the innovation consciousness to engage in product development within complex engineering-social systems, the ability to think integratively, and T-shaped leadership skills.

Program Features:

  • The program spans four years and follows a "3+1" training model: the first three years are spent on campus for theoretical and practical study, while the fourth year involves joint training at an enterprise, where students participate in the development of new products. The results of this work serve as their graduation project.

  • During on-campus study, inquiry-based teaching methods are adopted, along with an integrated training model that combines knowledge acquisition with practical projects, ensuring that theory is linked to practice and learning is applied effectively.

  • During the industry-based training period, students receive dual guidance from both a university supervisor and an industry supervisor. The university supervisor is a senior professor in the field of communication engineering, while the industry supervisor is a high-level expert from the enterprise.

  • Under the joint guidance of both supervisors, students work on real communication products in the enterprise's R&D environment. They apply their knowledge to solve practical problems encountered in product development, thereby strengthening their integrative thinking skills, engineering innovation capabilities, engineering design abilities, and engineering practice competencies, ultimately enhancing their overall competitiveness.

  • The Excellent Engineer Class operates under a limited dynamic management mechanism. A small number of students who fail to meet the requirements of the "Excellent Engineer Training Program" may be transferred to the regular class of the same major to continue their studies.
