The Institute of Modern Network Technology and Information Security of Shantou University evolved from the Institute of Modern Network Technology of Shantou University after years of development. The Institute of Modern Network Technology was founded in 2003. Relying on the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Signal and Image Processing Technology and the discipline of computer, through the construction of two "211" key projects in the Ninth Five-Year Plan and the Tenth Five-Year Plan, it has formed a distinctive, stable and comprehensive scientific research direction and become the key Industry-University-Research base for the research and development of network technology, information security and modern information services in eastern Guangdong.

The research team has a good educational background. 57% of the core members have doctoral degrees, and 86% have the title of associate professor or above. They have presided over or participated in national or provincial scientific research projects and have strong scientific research and project development capabilities. At the same time, it has attracted more than 10 senior technical personnel of enterprises and scholars of similar disciplines to take part-time jobs. The institute has undertaken more than 30 scientific research projects, including 15 provincial projects; Published more than 30 papers, including more than 10 articles included in SCI and EI; 1 software copyright has been obtained; Electronic product trading platform with digital copyright protection has formed scientific and technological achievements with intellectual property rights, and many achievements have been applied. Among them, electronic product trading platform with digital copyright protection won the first prize of Shantou Science and Technology Progress Award, and the series research and application of digital rights management system won the third prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award in 2007, which achieved remarkable economic and social benefits.

The institute has established close cooperative relations with famous IT companies such as Shantou Telecom, South China Communication and Shenxin. Set up a research group on information construction of small and medium-sized enterprises with Shantou Economic and Information Committee and Shantou Telecom to provide technical support for information construction of small and medium-sized enterprises in eastern Guangdong and even Guangdong.

Based on information security and modern information service, the Institute has focused on solving the key problems in the application research of computer technology, network technology and information security technology in modern information service.

(1) Theoretical research on information security.

The research on fine-grained access control technology mainly includes access control model with delegation based on attribute RBAC (EUCON), fine-grained role delegation model based on mapping mechanism, and digital rights management model integrating cryptography, information hiding technology and access control technology.

The research of information security technology mainly includes algebraic immune optimal Boolean function construction, digital watermarking and encryption algorithm.

The research of information security system mainly includes the dynamic model of information security system, the dynamic change law and dynamic evolution characteristics of information security model, the dynamic game in information security, the dynamic complexity measurement of information security system, and the security control and management schemes of various information service platforms.

(2) Research and development of information service basic platform

The flexible workflow platform mainly includes the standardization of workflow in information service platform, the modeling method of workflow system based on event-rule mechanism, the description method of process-business dynamic association in complex environment, the technical method supporting rapid process reengineering, and the deployment and application of workflow system.

Cluster service and cloud computing platform mainly include cluster service technology, modeling and simulation of cluster service, QoS of cluster service, CDN technology, construction and management of cloud computing platform.

(3) Research and development of modern information service application platform

Digital copyright protection and operation platform mainly includes the integration of digital watermarking, encryption technology and access control technology, various media copyright protection schemes, platform operation mode and platform promotion.

The public platform of data management and knowledge sharing in medical and health industry mainly includes the framework of public platform of data management and knowledge sharing in medical and health industry, data integration based on integrated agent and model-driven, application of medical data and online knowledge discovery based on data mining.

The design collaboration and project integration platform of animation products in toy industry mainly includes the establishment of animation parts library and knowledge base in toy industry, the management of animation and toy projects, design workflow, design resources and documents, and the collaborative work platform of animation product design.

(1) Cooperate with Guangdong Tianying Information Technology Co., Ltd. on the project "Cloud Computing Service and Application of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises", and the project is actively promoted at present.

(2) Cooperate with Guangdong Tianyima Information Industry Co., Ltd. on the project "Research and Development and Application Based on EUCON Digital Copyright Protection Operation Platform". At present, the project is progressing smoothly and will be industrialized soon.

(3) In 2008, we cooperated with Guangdong Aofei Animation Culture Co., Ltd. in the project "Design Collaboration and Project Integration Platform for Animation Products in Toy Industry", which has been deployed and applied in this company.

(4) In 2006, the project "Server Load Balancing and Content Distribution CDN System Design" was completed for Shantou Vision Online Company. The platform has been applied to "Audio-visual Online" and runs well.

(5) In 2008, the Chaoshan dialect input method software based on network environment was completed.

(6) In 2008, a port control module based on intranet security was developed for Shantou Aerospace, which has been integrated into the company's intranet security system series products.

(7) Develop the hospital network integrated information management system HIS based on B/S and C/S network structure for the first and second affiliated hospitals of Shantou University School of Medicine.
