In this seminar, it will be shown how fractal geometry can thoroughly interpret the scale effects related to fatigue resistance, which are represented by the downward translation of experimental Wohler's curves as the structural dimension increases, and those related to Paris' law, so that a theoretical explanation will be provided to the so-called "short cracks problem”.
