2. Association between novel environmental pollutants and neurological diseases

Bio

Dr. Shaowei Guo is a supervisor for Masters students and post-doctoral fellows, as well as an international co-supervisor for Ph.D. students. Dr. Guo graduated from Shantou University Medical College (SUMC) and the Technion  Israel Institute of Technology. He was mentored by Prof. Shulamit Levenberg from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the Technion where he focused on stem cells, neural tissue engineering and regeneration. Upon completing his Ph.D. program at the Technion, Dr. Guo returned to the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of SUMC to dedicate himself to clinical practice, scientific research, and teaching. Over the past few years, he has published 14 papers in international journals such as Lancet Ebiomedicine, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, Advanced Healthcare Materials, and Biotechnology Advances, with an accumulative impact factor of over 150. Part of his research achievements has been translated into the NurExone company.
