Visit to Guangdong Tianyima Information Industry Co., Ltd.
On the morning of September 28, Lu Zhuobin, Party Secretary of the School of Engineering, Xu Biao, Deputy Director of the Department of Electronic Engineering, faculty members Li Wenji and Lai Haoran, and Lin Zhanqiao, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, visited Guangdong Tianyima Information Industry Co., Ltd. They were received by enterprise representatives including Lin Shusheng, Deputy General Manager and R&D Director of Tianyima, Wang Zexin, Co-founder of Guangdong Yituo Ciyuan Technology Co., Ltd., Lin Yuqiang, Director, and Xie Rui, Technical Director.
Through discussions, showroom tours and technical exchanges, both sides had in-depth talks on AI talent training, overseas Ciyuan industry cooperation and industry-university-research collaboration.
At the forum, Lu Zhuobin introduced the school’s disciplinary strengths and talent training programs. He noted that the school targets regional industrial upgrading and cultivates innovative engineering talents based on electronics and AI disciplines. The Shantou Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Zone offers abundant practical scenarios. He hoped to learn about corporate talent demands in overseas Ciyuan business and computing services to improve curricula and supply outstanding graduates.
Lin Shusheng shared the company’s development, business layout and talent strategy. As a local listed IT firm in Shantou, Tianyima has developed Ciyuan factories, computing services and AI applications. It recently signed a contract with Huawei on the Ascend 950DT computing cluster project, making Shantou among the first cities to adopt domestic high-end computing chips. Driven by the booming overseas Ciyuan sector, the enterprise is in urgent need of interdisciplinary talents in AI, big data and communication engineering, and looks forward to deeper cooperation in talent recruitment, internships and joint research.
Based on the research focus of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Xu Biao proposed joint industry-university-research work on computing scheduling and large-model inference optimization to align academic research with real industrial challenges. The two sides also discussed resource sharing, internship base construction, graduate recruitment and joint technical research.
Accompanied by corporate representatives, the visiting team toured Tianyima International Ciyuan Factory and learned about efficient intelligent production scheduling via real-time computing monitoring systems.
The visit strengthened mutual trust between the two parties. The school will further cooperate with enterprises, optimize talent training, recommend high-caliber graduates and support high-quality regional industrial development.
Visit to Shenzhen Hongxin Deli Technology Co., Ltd.
On September 29, Lu Zhuobin, Party Secretary of the School of Engineering, Professor Zhang Jian, Vice Dean, and Dr. Gao Changqing, together with other four members, visited Shenzhen Hongxin Deli Technology Co., Ltd. The meeting was joined by Liu Jun, CEO of Hongxin Deli, Gan Yangzhou, CTO of Hongxin Deli and CEO of Shenzhen Yutong Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., as well as student interns from the school.
A plaque-unveiling ceremony for the Joint Laboratory of the School of Engineering and Hongxin Deli was held. Afterwards, the team visited the firm’s R&D and production sites to learn about its technology, industrial layout and talent needs. Dr. Gao Changqing presented relevant research projects. Both sides discussed research collaboration, technical tackling and joint talent training.
The group also held a forum with undergraduate interns, learning about their work and life experience, listening to their feedback, and encouraging them to seize the opportunity to sharpen practical engineering skills.
This visit expanded employment channels and built a platform for collaborative education, research and internship-employment matching. Relying on the joint laboratory, the school will deepen university-enterprise cooperation, match corporate talent demands precisely, improve training quality and promote full, high-quality employment for graduates.
