Biomimetic mechanics and its application in rehabilitation engineering and medical devices

Bio

Zhang Zhiqiang joined Shantou University in 2021 as an associate professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME). His research interests include biomechanics, biomimetic mechanics and their applications in rehabilitation engineering and medical devices.

Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. degree from Beihang University in 2016, majoring in Solid Mechanics. During 2016-2021, Dr. Zhang worked as an engineer at the National Research Center for Rehabilitation Technical Aids (NRRA), engaging in biomechanics and rehabilitation technologies.

Dr. Zhang currently has presided over one project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project of DITDP, and one project of National Standard. He also participated one National Key R&D Program of China, one Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Project, etc. Dr. Zhang has published more than 20 journal papers, including Composite StructuresInternational Journal of Impact Engineering and other professional journals. Moreover, he applied 7 patents, and four of them have been authorized.
