Dr. Kumar joined Shantou University in
2021. His primary research interests include brain-computer interface, artificial
intelligence for stroke rehabilitation, robot-assisted stroke rehabilitation systems.
Dr. Kumar received his doctorate in biomedical engineering from Royal Melbourne
Institute of Technology University, Australia, in 2021. During his PhD, he was
awarded the RMIT Research Stipend Scholarship, RMIT Research International
Tuition Fee Scholarship, and Higher Degree by Research Travel Grant. Dr. Kumar
also has one year of professional working experience at Vihaan Networks Ltd., Gurugram,
India. During this time, he worked on developing a comprehensive perimeter
intrusion detection system.
Dr. Kumar has been involved in a number of
research projects and has published 8 journal papers (including 7 SCI papers), including
in Journal of Neural Engineering, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health
Informatics, Frontiers in Neurorobotics, and other professional journals. He
has also published 7 peer-reviewed conference papers (won best-paper award
twice) and one book chapter.
