On October 8, 2026, the opening ceremony of the 9th Youth Marxism Training Program for student leaders and the patriotic education League class were held in Room 114, Building 1, Phase II of Jingyi Academy on the Sangushan Campus. Co-hosted by the Youth League Committee of the School of Engineering and Jingyi Academy, and undertaken by the Red Star Pilot League of the School of Engineering, the training runs until November 21. Student leaders from various student organizations, class cadres and academy mentors attended the event.
At the ceremony, Zhang Kailiang, person-in-charge of the School of Engineering Youth League Committee and Jingyi Academy Office, delivered an opening speech. He outlined the growth path of student leaders around four keywords: integrity, aspiration, competence and morality. He stressed that firm political stance is fundamental for student leaders, who should stay committed to the right political direction. Readiness to take responsibility and dedication form their core quality. They should continuously improve skills including organization, communication, time management and problem-solving. Meanwhile, they need to build distinctive activity brands and maintain a good reputation.
Afterwards, Wang Yanni, full-time League instructor, and Zhou Siting, participant of the Provincial Youth Marxism Training Program, gave the patriotic education League class. Drawing on routine work and provincial training experience, they discussed Chinese modernization and college students’ missions. They interpreted the Long March spirit featuring unwavering faith, seeking truth from facts, solidarity and dedication to the people, encouraging trainees to combine theoretical study with social practice and serve social needs with professional expertise.
The training focuses on ideological refinement and capacity building of young student leaders. Upcoming sessions cover news writing, event planning and management, mental adjustment and communication skills, and volunteer service sharing. An outdoor development activity and closing ceremony are also arranged. The program aims to comprehensively improve trainees’ capabilities, consolidate their ideals, strengthen responsibility and hone practical skills. It helps advance the development of the Five-Colored School and Five-Colored Academy, inspiring young students to deliver solid work and contribute youth strength to Chinese modernization.
